India services growth hits five-month high in April
mumbai, May 7 -- Growth in India's services sector accelerated to a five-month high in April as domestic demand strengthened, even as the conflict in West Asia weighed on export orders and inbound tourism, according to the HSBC India Services PMI released by S&P Global on Wednesday.
The seasonally adjusted HSBC India Services PMI Business Activity Index rose to 58.8 in April from 57.5 in March, marking the strongest pace of expansion since November 2025. A reading above 50 indicates expansion from the previous month. New business inflows also grew at the fastest pace in five months, with firms citing competitive pricing, e-commerce and strong customer demand, especially for relocation and logistics services.
