New Delhi, Aug. 14 -- The Indian Davis Cup team wants next month's tie in Pakistan to be shifted to a neutral venue due to the political tension between the two countries, and has communicated it to the All India Tennis Association (AITA).

"We have asked AITA to request for a neutral venue," India captain Mahesh Bhupathi said.

AITA wrote to the International Tennis Federation (ITF) on Tuesday seeking to make a representation to the ITF board explaining the ground situation. AITA wants the Sept 14-15 fixture in Islamabad to be shifted to a neutral venue or be postponed.
