India, May 4 -- Six people were arrested on Sunday in Bhopal for allegedly abducting and robbing the director of a Delhi-based IAS coaching academy of Rs.1.89 crore, police said. The prime accused, Priyank Sharma, a franchise owner of the institute, was apprehended from the ICU of AIIMS Bhopal, where he had taken admission in an apparent attempt to evade arrest. According to police, Sharma lured Shubhra Ranjan to Bhopal on the pretext of opening a second branch and conducting a site inspection. On Wednesday, she was picked up from a hotel, taken to a flat in Bagsewaniya, held hostage at gunpoint and forced to transfer the money online before being released later that night.
