Belagavi, May 16 -- A 20-year-old woman was killed by a 21-year-old man, a stalker whose marriage proposal she had turned down, in Hubballi early Wednesday morning, police said.
Police said the victim was an orphan, who used to stay with her younger sister and another girl at her grandmother's residence on Yallapur street. The accused is alleged to have stabbed the victim seven to eight times and fled the scene.
The girl's grandmother told mediapersons that her family informed the Bendigeri police about the stalker's harassment, but they did not take the matter seriously.
