New Delhi, April 23 -- A division bench of the Delhi High Court on Wednesday upheld the New Delhi Municipal Council's (NDMC) orders directing Bharat Hotels Limited to pay Rs.1,063.74 crore in licence fee arrears for a 6.058-acre Barakhamba Road property housing The Lalit New Delhi and the World Trade Centre. The bench of Chief Justice DK Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela also upheld termination of the 1982 licence deed and directed the company to hand over possession within 90 days. The court set aside a December 2023 single judge order that had quashed NDMC's demand notice and termination.
