Lucknow, March 2 -- The Lucknow bench of Allahabad high court on Friday allowed a petition by Kunda MLA Raghuraj Pratap Singh, known as Raja Bhaiya, Member of Legislative Council Akshay Pratap Singh and 18 others for withdrawal of a criminal case lodged against them during the Bahujan Samaj Party government in Uttar Pradesh in 2010.
Justice Subhash Vidyarthi allowed the petition filed by the 20 people, who challenged the rejection order of the special MP/MLA court in Pratapgarh.
The counsel for the petitioners and senior advocate HGS Parihar said that an application for withdrawal of the case was moved before the special MP/MLA court, Pratapgarh, on February 27, 2023, but it was rejected on March 17 last year.
