India, July 27 -- After a two-day standoff, the Haryana Civil Medical Services Association (HCMSA) and the Nayab Singh Saini-led BJP government reached an agreement a little past 1am on Saturday, addressing three key demands of the doctors and ending the impasse that had crippled health services at government medical institutions in the state.

It was at 1.13am when the state government announced a "positive outcome of the talks" with the HCMSA.

Top government sources said that the HCMSA agreed to call off the strike after the government hammered out a formula to fulfil three contentious demands with an assurance that these steps will be implemented by August 15.
