Meerut, March 1 -- The 62-year-old father of an additional civil judge posted in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr district was allegedly shot dead by his brother-in-law on Friday evening in Moradabad district over an extortion demand of Rs.10 lakh, police said. The main accused is the victim Mohd Asad's brother-in-law Zafar, a repeat offender who had allegedly been pressuring Asad for money for several days, police said. The incident occurred when Asad was riding a scooter with his other brother-in-law near Bangla Gaon Chauraha on Jigar Colony Road, when a motorcycle approached them, with Zafar riding pillion and an unidentified person driving.
