ED arrests Sujit Bose in recruitment scam
Kolkata, May 12 -- The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested former West Bengal fire and emergency services minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Sujit Bose on Monday night after interrogating him for almost 11 hours regarding alleged corruption in recruitment by several civic bodies, an official of the federal agency said, on conditions of anonymity.
The arrest came hours after the state's first Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief minister Suvendu Adhikari held his first cabinet and administrative meetings.
Officials claimed the politician was "evasive" in his replies, often "inconsistent", and was hence arrested.
