Greater Noida, Sept. 14 -- Land-based solutions should be used for climate action and biodiversity conservation, the New Delhi Declaration adopted by 197 parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) on Friday has proposed, acknowledging recent research, including one titled Climate Change and Land by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change that stress on land-based measures such as afforestation, enhancing soil carbon and changing diets.

The implementation of the three Rio Conventions on Climate, Biodiversity and Desertification should be implemented in a "mutually supportive" manner, the declaration has said.
