New Delhi, Nov. 8 -- A 42-year-old man wanted for the murder of an alleged gangster in Najafgarh last year was arrested from west Delhi's Dwarka after a shoot-out with the crime branch personnel on Wednesday night, police said.

The arrested man, Darshan Dabas, was also alleged to be involved in a failed plot to kill former student leader, Kanhaiya Kumar, when he was campaigning in Bihar's Begusarai district while contesting Lok Sabha elections earlier this year, said a senior police officer on condition of anonymity.

"Dabas has told us that he stayed in Begusarai for about 25-26 days looking for an opportunity to kill Kanhaiya. He made some failed attempts while Kanhaiya was out for road shows. We are verifying his claims," said the offic...
