India, June 11 -- The labour ministry has floated a proposal to roll out the four labour codes passed in the previous term of the Modi government by April 2025. Renewed negotiations with states are already on, an official said, requesting anonymity.
Technically, states are required to pre-publish draft rules for the codes to be implemented. Eight states are yet to complete the process and they are being told that they would fall behind in attracting investments and jobs if they didn't act on the reforms, according to the official.
