Ahmedabad, March 24 -- Referring to the tribal communities as "Vanvasi" instead of "Adivasi" was an attack on their rights and the word "Vanvasi" strips their claim as owners of the land, water and forests of India, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said on Monday. "Vanvasi means you were not the original owners, someone else was. But Adivasi means this country was yours - the water, the forests, the land were yours.
