New Delhi, May 30 -- Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar, who is accused of assaulting Rajya Sabha member Swati Maliwal, on Wednesday approached the Delhi high court, challenging his arrest.

Kumar's petition was mentioned before a bench of acting chief justice Manmohan and justice Manmeet PS Arora for an urgent hearing. Urging the court to list the petition for Thursday, his counsel said Kumar was arrested in contravention of section 41A of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).

Considering the contentions, the court agreed to list the petition on Friday.
