BELAGAVI, March 23 -- An Army officer undergoing commando training in Karnataka's Belagavi died on Sunday after collapsing in a swimming pool, with preliminary findings pointing to a cardiac arrest, police said.
According to police, the officer, Amit Singh, a lieutenant from Haryana, had been training for the past few weeks at the Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre (MLIRC) in Nanawadi. The incident took place during a routine swimming session at the facility.
"He had already completed two laps and began showing signs of exhaustion. During his third lap, he suddenly collapsed in the water," said Bhushan Borase, commissioner of police, Belagavi, citing preliminary observations.htc
