Jaipur, Dec. 8 -- The Rajasthan Police on Thursday detained at least four people for their alleged role in the murder of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena (SRRKS) chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, a senior police officer familiar with the matter said.

Gogamedi was shot dead on Tuesday by two assailants at his Jaipur residence, triggering fierce protests by Rajputs across Rajasthan. A member of notorious jailed criminal Lawrence Bishnoi's gang claimed responsibility for the murder in a social media post. On Wednesday, the police identified the shooters as Jaipur-based Rohit Rathore and Haryana-based Nitin Fouji and are yet to arrest them.
