India, Dec. 8 -- At least 32 people were killed and more than 25 had to be shifted to hospital after a fire broke out at a cardboard factory in north Delhi's Rani Jhansi Road during the early hours on Sunday. Rescue operations are underway.

Deputy commissioner of police, (North), Monika Bhardwaj confirmed that at least 32 of those rescued and rushed to hospitals were pronounced dead.

Delhi Fire service director Atul Garg said the fire started around 5 am in a five storey building where around 60-70 people were sleeping, most of them contractual labourers and factory workers.
