'As per expectations': BJP on exit polls tally; Cong rejects prediction
Guwahati, April 30 -- As several exit polls on Wednesday predicted a thumping victory for the NDA in Assam, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said the projections were as per the party's expectations while the opposition Congress said they don't reflect the ground situation.
Polling for the 126-member Assam assembly was held on April 9. Pollsters Axis My India, Peoples Pulse and Matrize predicted a comfortable for the BJP-led NDA in Assam, forecasting 68 to 100 seats for the ruling alliance and 22 to 36 seats for the Congress and its partners.
