Goa, June 28 -- Authorities rescued a 34-year-old woman from Lucknow who allegedly tried to end her life by driving her car onto railway tracks near Nagulapally Railway Station, Vikarabad police said on Friday.
The woman, identified as Vomika Soni, was later apprehended and taken to a hospital for treatment. According to a statement issued by police, the incident occurred in the early hours of June 26.
Around 4 a.m., Soni left her mobile phone, handbag, and pet Labrador dog at Narsingi Police Station before proceeding to the railway crossing. By 7:04 a.m., she had reached LC Gate No. 22 in Kondakall and drove her car onto the tracks, allegedly intending to die by an oncoming train.
