Goa, Dec. 26 -- Vasco Police have registered a case against a couple for allegedly cheating a woman of Rs.25.74 lakh by promising to sell her a flat at Dabolim. According to police, the complainant stated that the accused assured her of selling a used, unfurnished two-bedroom flat and collected money in instalments between December 2022 and December 2023 as advance payments. However, despite receiving the amount, the accused neither executed a sale deed nor returned the money. This led the woman to believe that she had been deliberately misled. Police have booked the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, related to cheating and criminal breach of trust. Further investigation is currently underway unde...
