Goa, Nov. 26 -- Nearly 14 lakh SIR (Special Summary Revision) enumeration forms in West Bengal have been classified as "uncollectable," the Election Commission (EC) said on Tuesday. According to officials, these forms could not be collected because the voters were found to be absentee, duplicate, deceased, or permanently shifted from their registered addresses.

The number, which stood at 10.33 lakh on Monday, rose to 13.92 lakh by Tuesday afternoon. "We expect this figure to continue rising daily as more updates roll in," an EC official said.
