Goa, Nov. 24 -- The ongoing marriage season in Goa has reportedly slowed seat-sharing talks among Opposition alliance partners ahead of the upcoming Zilla Panchayat elections. GPCC President Amit Patkar said that discussions with leaders of parties like Goa Forward and RG have been delayed as several presidents are tied up attending multiple weddings each day. He said a formal meeting on seat allocation is expected only after the wedding rush ends. Patkar also mentioned that talks may continue late into the evening and reiterated that the Congress would not entertain proposals involving former defectors returning to the party through other alliances.
