Goa, Oct. 20 -- PWD engineers have assured Baina residents that the ongoing water scarcity issue will be resolved by connecting the existing old water supply pipeline to a new one. The department has also proposed laying a new pipeline as a permanent solution to the recurring problem.

Following several complaints from women about severe water shortage in the Baina area ahead of the Diwali festival, Mormugao councillor Shraddha Amonkar conducted a joint inspection with PWD officials at Baina on Friday.

During the inspection, resident Suvarna Nayak stated that they had been facing water shortage for over a year despite repeated complaints to the authorities.
