Goa, March 28 -- On Friday, violent tremors rocked Thailand and neighboring Myanmar, leaving behind significant devastation across the region. High-rise buildings, along with hundreds of homes, collapsed in what can only be described as a catastrophic event, with chilling footage of the destruction rapidly circulating on social media.

The quake, which struck at midday, was initially recorded by the US Geological Survey and Germany's GFZ Centre for Geosciences as a shallow 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) below the surface, with its epicenter located in Myanmar. Approximately 12 minutes later, a second powerful tremor measuring 6.4 magnitude followed, intensifying the damage.
