India, Feb. 4 -- Goa Forward Party president Vijai Sardesai has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding the introduction of dual citizenship for Goans working overseas, stating that many are being forced to choose between their livelihood and their Indian nationality.

In his letter, Sardesai said that while Goan identity was celebrated on the global stage during Republic Day celebrations, Goans living in India are facing harassment and are allegedly being stripped of their Indian passports due to issues related to citizenship status.
