Goa, July 25 -- Asserting unity on the contentious Mhadei river issue, Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai on Thursday extended full support to Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, urging him to take stronger action to protect Goa's water interests.

"If the Chief Minister is fighting for the Mhadei, then we are with him. Goa comes first-there's no compromise on the Mhadei issue," Sardesai said in the Assembly.

He, however, expressed frustration over the lack of concrete outcomes despite repeated statements. "The CM speaks, everyone speaks, but nothing happens beyond that. Meanwhile, Karnataka is doing whatever it wants," he added.
