Goa, May 20 -- Social worker Roquezinho D'Souza and concerned residents of Velsao have jointly appealed to the Indian Railways to keep the traditional access route open near the Velsao Panchayat and to urgently address drainage issues caused by recent landfilling activities along the railway tracks.

Residents claim the closure of the traditional pathway has disrupted daily life, particularly for those who depend on it for commuting and access to essential services. In addition to the access issue, the community has expressed serious concern over waterlogging and flooding in the area, reportedly triggered by improper drainage due to landfilling near the railway line.
