MAPUSA: Vasco Sports Club registered a hard-fought 1-0 win over Calangute Association SC in the Goa Professional League match played at Duler Stadium, here, on Friday.

Languishing at the bottom of the league table with just 4 points from 13 matches, Vasco SC played their hearts out as they took Calangute Association with 13 points and went into the breather with a goal cushion from their striker Ngulgoulal Singsit.

Early in the match, Port Towners should have taken the lead but a strong header from Reuben Letkhotinchon came off the horizontal bar from Konjengbam Singh's corner.
