Goa, Jan. 19 -- A 47-year-old head constable attached to the Vasco Railway Police passed away after collapsing while on patrol duty at Vasco Railway Station on Friday night, marking the second death of a police personnel on duty within the Vasco jurisdiction in recent months.

The officer suddenly collapsed while carrying out routine patrol duties at the busy railway station. He was immediately rushed to the Chicalim Sub-District Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the police fraternity, with colleagues expressing grief over the untimely loss. Senior officials said that necessary formalities are being completed and an inquiry is being conducted as per procedure.
