Vasco, March 8 -- In a major drug enforcement initiative, the Vasco police arrested two individuals for possessing over 4 kilograms of suspected marijuana, which is estimated to have a market value of Rs.4 lakh.

On the evening of March 7, 2025, between 7:44 PM and 11:30 PM, law enforcement officials conducted arrests in the vicinity of Laxmi Temple in Kharewado, Vasco. The individuals apprehended were identified as Yesunand Souza, aged 33, hailing from Khanapur, Belagavi, and James Swamy, also known as Ayan Rafiq Shaikh, aged 35, from Lohegaon, Pune. They were apprehended in the act by the police.
