Goa, Aug. 4 -- Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar has demanded the immediate removal of an illegally installed gate and compound wall by the Mormugao Port Authority (MPA), citing the South Goa Collector's order dated July 9, 2025. Raising the issue in the Assembly, Salkar expressed concern over the unauthorised construction, which he claims restricts public access.
The MLA also raised serious objections to the closure of an old Portuguese-era footbridge that historically connects Baina to Vasco city, questioning the MPA's intentions and hinting at an attempt to limit public movement in the area.
