Goa, Dec. 29 -- A group of concerned residents from Vagator-Assagao have appealed for the relocation of a regular stray dog-feeding spot after food was seen being placed beneath a religious banyan tree in the area. Visuals circulating locally show an animal activist feeding stray dogs at the base of the sacred tree, prompting objections from some community members.
Locals clarified that they are not opposed to the feeding of stray animals and appreciate the activist's concern for the dogs. However, they have requested that the activity be shifted to a different nearby location out of respect for the sanctity of the religious site.
