Goa, Dec. 4 -- A fresh controversy erupted at Sonsodo on Thursday after former Margao civic chief Savio Coutinho alleged that a substantial quantity of used sanitary pads had been dumped at the site and buried under mud. Coutinho criticised the Margao Municipal Council (MMC), questioning how such practices continue despite the outsourcing of garbage management operations.
He further raised concerns about regulatory oversight, asking whether the Goa Pollution Control Board is aware of the alleged sanitary waste dumping. Coutinho called for immediate action and accountability from the authorities to ensure proper waste-handling procedures at the long-troubled Sonsodo facility.
