Goa, July 18 -- In a significant move to intensify global counterterrorism efforts, the United States Department of State on Thursday designated The Resistance Front (TRF) as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) and Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT). The TRF had claimed responsibility for the April 22, 2025, terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 26 civilians-the deadliest such incident in India since the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
