Goa, May 28 -- Police have identified and traced the motorcycle involved in the tragic hit-and-run incident near Peddem junction that claimed the life of 12-year-old Akanksha Bora. The vehicle was found to be ridden by a 16-year-old minor, who was injured in the accident and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

Authorities have arrested the minor's father, who is believed to have allowed the underage teen to ride the bike, along with the pillion rider who was present during the incident.

The fatal crash occurred late last night when the speeding bike struck the young girl as she was crossing the road. Despite being rushed for medical treatment, she tragically succumbed to her injuries.
