Goa, Jan. 24 -- Uttar Pradesh recorded a 34 percent expansion in its National Highway network over the past decade, crossing 10,700 km, official data showed. Government sources said the milestone was achieved on Uttar Pradesh Diwas, observed on January 24. Data from the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways revealed that projects worth Rs 2.16 lakh crore had been sanctioned in the state since 2014, with Rs 1.32 lakh crore already spent. A total of 262 projects covering 8,211 km were approved, with NHAI implementing 106 projects and the State PWD handling the rest. As of 2025, Uttar Pradesh's highway length stood at 10,718 km, up from 7,986 km in 2014, highlighting rapid infrastructure growth.
