Goa, Jan. 24 -- Stiff resistance from Chimbel villagers forced the postponement of the joint survey of land ear marked for the proposed Unity Mall on Friday, after objections were raised over what residents described as an attempt to limit the scope of the inspection. The survey, scheduled to begin on Friday morn ing, was deferred follow ing sustained protests by villagers, who insisted that the inspection must not be confined to Survey No 40/1 or the immediate project footprint. Instead, they demanded a compre hensive demarcation of the entire wetland system linked to Toyyar Lake, stretching from the lake to the proposed mall site and encompassing the drainage network, buff er zones and the zone of influence.
