Goa, Aug. 25 -- Goa's roads continue to witness underage drivers, highlighting gaps in enforcement despite the Motor Vehicles Act. From 2020 to June 2025, 25 incidents involving minors driving or riding vehicles were recorded, leading to at least 13 fatalities and numerous injuries.
While 2021 had no reported cases, 2022 saw six incidents, including fatal crashes in Vasco, Old Goa, Fatorda, and Verna. In 2023, three accidents occurred in Panaji, Colvale, and Calangute. Alarmingly, 2024 recorded eight cases across several towns, with four resulting in deaths. The current year has already seen five incidents by mid-year.
