Goa, Nov. 23 -- Heaps of discarded tender coconut shells piled outside the main entrance of Goa Medical College, near the subway, are triggering major health concerns. The rotting shells, left unattended for weeks, have become a potential breeding ground for mosquitoes, posing added risk to already vulnerable patients visiting the hospital. Despite repeated reminders from locals and daily visitors, authorities have shown little urgency in clearing the waste. The smelly, overflowing heap not only creates an eyesore at the State's biggest hospital but also raises fears of dengue and other vector-borne diseases. Residents are demanding immediate action to restore hygiene around the GMC entrance.
