Goa, Jan. 12 -- The Crime Branch, Ribandar, rescued two women from an alleged human trafficking racket during a trap operation conducted in Old Goa on the eve of Anti-Human Trafficking Day. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, officials deployed a decoy customer to confirm the involvement of an unidentified agent who allegedly arranged the women for sexual exploitation. Following the operation, police registered an FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. The rescued women were shifted to a protective home for care and counselling.
