Goa, Dec. 4 -- An early-morning fire broke out in a third-floor rented apartment in Revora on Thursday, leaving two women, aged 23 and 25, with minor injuries and smoke inhalation. The blaze is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit in the air-conditioning unit.
The fire spread quickly while the women were asleep in the bedroom. Alert neighbours rushed to their aid and managed to rescue them, though one local resident also sustained minor injuries during the rescue. Both women were immediately shifted to the Mapusa District Hospital for treatment.
