Goa, Jan. 5 -- Two people were injured after an improvised explosive device (IED) planted near an abandoned house of a Meitei family exploded in Manipur's Bishnupur district on Monday morning, officials said. According to villagers, the first blast occurred inside the abandoned house between 5 am and 6 am. A second explosion followed shortly after, around 200 metres away in Bishnupur's Saiton village, injuring a man and a woman.

Residents said the explosions occurred in quick succession and immediately informed the central security forces deployed in the area.
