Calangute, Oct. 9 -- A rented car driven by a tourist from Noida fell into an open concrete pit at the Calangute Circle near Tinto, opposite Shantadurga Temple, on Tuesday. The woman, who was following Google Maps along with her partner, reportedly lost control of the vehicle and drove into an unfinished section of roadwork. Both occupants escaped unharmed, but the car suffered significant damage.

According to reports, a drunken man who attempted to "help" remove the car caused further damage by smashing the vehicle's rear glass before fleeing the scene. Calangute Police arrived promptly, towed the car using a crane, and brought the tourists to the police station for inquiry.
