Goa, June 9 -- Mandrem Police have issued a challan to a domestic tourist caught riding a two-wheeler on Morjim beach, near the Olive Ridley turtle nesting zone, a protected and ecologically sensitive area.
The tourist was found violating Sections 177 and 194(d) of the Motor Vehicles Act, which prohibit unauthorized vehicle movement in sensitive coastal zones. Authorities reiterated that such actions not only breach legal provisions but also pose a serious threat to Goa's fragile coastal wildlife.
Locals and environmentalists have welcomed the prompt action, urging stricter enforcement to preserve nesting habitats from irresponsible tourism behavior.
