Goa, Jan. 3 -- Residents living near the pre-historic rock carving site at Pansaimol in Rivona have renewed their demand for tourist-oriented development and better protection of the heritage location. Locals said the site attracts many visitors, but the absence of basic facilities such as a proper access road, toilets, clear pathways and digital signboards has left tourists disappointed. They urged the government, especially the Department of Archaeology, to prioritise upkeep and conservation. Concerns were also raised after locals recently alleged that kayaking activities were carried out by a private agency without permission at the protected site, highlighting the need for stricter monitoring and regulation.
