Goa, April 26 -- A tragic accident in Candolim claimed the life of an NRI husband and left his wife critically injured when a speeding rent-a-car driven by a tourist struck the couple while they were walking on the road. The husband later succumbed to his injuries at Goa Medical College (GMC), while his wife remains in critical condition.

The Calangute police swiftly responded to the incident and arrested the tourist driver responsible for the accident. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, and charges are expected to be filed against the driver.

The incident has left the local community shocked, and condolences are pouring in for the grieving family.
