Goa, Nov. 7 -- A three-year-old boy, identified as Abhishek Malik, tragically lost his life after falling into an open well near his house in Navelim earlier this week.

According to police, the accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon while the child was playing outside his home. The well reportedly had no parapet wall, posing a serious safety hazard.

Family members and neighbours rushed Abhishek to the South Goa District Hospital in Margao, from where he was later referred to the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) for advanced treatment. Despite efforts by doctors, the child succumbed to his injuries on Thursday.
