Goa, Nov. 7 -- After returning from an inspection visit to Pune, Margao Municipal Council (MMC) chairperson Damodar Shirodkar announced plans to set up a thermocol solvent recovery unit in Margao. Describing the move as a significant step toward solving Goa's waste management issues, Shirodkar said the initiative would help in the disposal of thermocol and mixed waste generated in the city. He also mentioned that nearly 80% of the 10-tonne-per-day waste processing plant at Sonsodo has been completed and is expected to be operational within the next 20 to 25 days.
