Goa, June 9 -- A political storm has broken out in Kerala's Nilambur assembly constituency after a Class 10 student, Ananthu Suresh, died from electrocution caused by an illegal electric trap set to kill wild boars. The incident occurred Saturday evening while Ananthu was fishing near a stream in Vazhikkadavu. Two relatives accompanying him were injured.

The Congress claimed credit for the arrest of the accused, while Kerala's Forest Minister alleged a political conspiracy behind the illegal fencing. Officials confirmed the wire was illegally tapped from a government power line. An autopsy confirmed electric burns on Ananthu's body. The tragedy comes just ahead of crucial bypolls, further intensifying political tensions.
