Goa, Nov. 7 -- A technical glitch in the air traffic control system at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport caused widespread flight delays on Friday, affecting operations nationwide. Between 5 a.m. and 2 p.m., over 265 departures were delayed, according to Flightradar24. The issue was traced to the Automatic Message Switching System (AMSS), which supports Air Traffic Control data. The Airports Authority of India said flight plans were being processed manually while technical teams worked to restore the system. The disruption at Delhi led to cascading delays across major airports including Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata, where several departures were affected.
